A Narrative of Light
The project began with a simple observation: books are not just containers of words; they are vessels of history. Inspired by the streets of European cities and the charm of Bologna's antique bookstores, NOVELS LAMP was born when I was just 13 years old. It started with real, weathered books—volumes that carried poems and tales—stacked to form a base for light.
"I decided to use these specific books because they remind me of lived experiences. The history they carry allows me to reflect on the past."
Emotional Language
"I believe lighting is not just technical, but a true emotional language. Each lamp is born with the idea of telling a story, bringing character, warmth, and harmony to the spaces it inhabits."
Light does not merely serve a function; it narrates. It intertwines with the stories within the pages, transforming a room into a sanctuary. My goal is to create objects that surprise and facilitate a sense of belonging.
Tradition Meets Technology
From the physical stack of books, we evolved. Embracing modern technology, the base is now designed using 3D modeling software (Maya), allowing for a dynamic composition where "books" are staggered to create movement, retaining the soul of the original idea.
The lampshade resembles a truncated pyramid, designed to honor the geometry of books, wrapped in raw cream linen to diffuse a warm, nostalgic yellow glow. The A and G in our logo, inverted to form a lamp, symbolize the union of the creator's identity with the object itself.
